Woe! He was not supposed to leave us so soon. My best friend ... my bad boy ... guitar player ... awesome musician... friend... husband (@times)... son ... most the time ... loved with all his heart! Jerry just was not meant to be married. He was meant to make it as a lead guitar player and jam with Stevie Rae and Eddie Van Halen ... Joe Satriani ... he loved those guys from a distance ... up close ... bands ... guitar players ... not so much ... he "liked" Rich Ward and Bones from Stuck Mojo ... rapcore band ... similar to RAGE ... we had fun with them! He tolerated ... Bruce Brookshire from Doc... he loved Bud from Doc Holliday like a brother ... they were ... similar ... lol ... in ways I won't go into ... Bruce was already a preacher when Jerry was introduced to him and I think Jerry didn't know how to deal with the whole preacher thing ... Bruce was an outlaw ... southern rocker in Jerry's eyes ... he was Doc! And then he was a pastor ... the man is awesome at both ... :) Nuff Said! I miss Jerry Peek! Bad!

And have not heard from ... well wait yes I have heard from who I was missing ... but ... then he had to go do Tday with his sister and family. I get it ... I'm in the same place ... family... I love my family... I also love ... a friend. A beautiful man who's heart is bigger than his logical brain! Dang it! Why? This is not the first time I've been round this trek with the same friend. Last time I was married to Jerry ... and still very much loved this man and I let him slip out of my life. What now?

"Home" ... for Thanksgiving ... really? :(

I'm "home" after an extended stay @ home in GA! It's ... complicated to put it lightly! I don't know how much I'd blogged about the American Cancer Society benefit in memory of my ex ... the guitar player from Macon, GA ... my best friend ever ... well maybe not ever ... as I ran into my best friend EVER at the benefit ... which btw did not go as planned. And sad part is I didn't really care because a ghost / best friend came walking through the door an hour after I got to the bar ... where we were having the thing. A friend I had not seen in ... YEARS! I friend I'd missed and loved with all my heart. HE is what / who I've been searching for. He is ... who I've been looking for and until Saturday ... November 20th I had no clue. He told me last night that he "needed an angel" and that God and sent him one ... me. Damn! I felt exactly the same way. I was in a bar full of people that I didn't even like. Except for Amy and Melinda. And in walks "the man" ... out of NO WHERE ... literally. I wrapped my body around that hott lead singer and drug him outside and cried like a baby. So did he ... ok not like a baby but there were tears. Wow! Small world ... and so big and spread out as well. I'm "home" ... in body ... I'm HOME in GA with MY favorite lead singer ever! Yep JR tops the Corey ANY day of the week! LOL Corey is Jerry to me ... in a messed up kinda way ... JR is not ... he's ... mine ... my best friend.

I really don't even know where to start ... the past weekend was ... and still is ... a ride!

I picked a very good friend ... Melinda up at 1:00 p.m. at the airport in Nashville, TN. We headed downtown to get some lunch and pick up Corey Smith tickets for Thursday night ... last week. She wanted to go in "Uglies" to get a tshirt for she and her boyfriend so we did ... tshirt said "no angel" on back ... reminded me of Greg's song ... "i'm no angel" ... :)

We were way late getting back to house to get ready for Corey show. I think we left hause to go back to Nashville at like 7 and show was t start @ 9 p.m.

Tonight ... is THE COREY! Yay! I feel like a teenager on a sugar rush and it's 6:40 a.m. Melinda will be here from OH by 1:15 ... picking her up at Nashville airport ... we are leaving here at 7 to go downtown and meet friends that she knew when she and Mike were in Germany. Mike was airforce. That is how we met. They were stationed in Warner Robins and we were living near there when Jerry got in with Mike and Lance and J.R. Lopez who was their first ... short lived ... partially my fault ... lead singer. LOL But of course ... Leah ... drama ... get rid of lead singer ... ok he coudln't so much sing ... then they got Shannon Allgood ... good kid from Macon, GA.

Shannon ... wow ... so long ago... saw him last Oct. @ Jerry's memorial service. He's really grown up ... he was early twenties when we were all "together". We were all strung out! Geez the boy went through girl friends like wildfire. LOL Connie Lynn ... she was from south GA ... Kim ... friend of mne ... my niece Samantha ... Debbie who worked with Melinda ... I think they actually got married ... lol ... and now he is married again ... she seems nice ... quiet ... he may be more settled now as well ... think he is very involved with his church which is an awesome thing ... so am I.

It's for sure ... MOST of us have settled alot since 1999 when I left Warner Robins for Washington State.

Job Interview today ...

It's 9:39 in Nashville, TN ... I have to leave in 6 mins. LOL but it's ok I am ready to walk out the door. I have a job interview @ 10:45 in Clarksville @ a nursing home where a friend of mine works. What I want to do? Not so much. I want to be Corey Smith's personal photographer. LOL But that's no in the cards ... so what I can do is be a CNA til I get my degree from Nossi ... I start art school for commercial photography in January of 2011. I am very excited about that! This job thing ... I wish it meant more to me.

Right now excitement is not stemming from job interview today! But I am excited ... very ... Corey Smith concert tomorrow night in Nashville ... my friend Melinda is coming to go with ... she was Jerry's drummer's wife when we lived in WR and Jerry played with katzonfire ... blacktop ... genepool... Melinda and I were joined at the hip ... lol. She even went in delivery room / operating room with me for me to have Alanis Jade.... our youngest daughter... Jerry was working out of town ... my mom was freaked at the thought of having to watch surgery ... and crazy Melinda was biting at the chance ... lol ... to watch Alanis make her debut performance in Warner Robins, GA.... Dec. 10, 1996 ... I remember it with very fond thoughts!

Me ... "One Day At A Time" ... That's all I can do right now. Putting the past where it belongs! it's hard. Very! Not sure why. Jerry's been ... gone ... dead ... since Oct. 17th of 2009. Why didn't it get to me then like it does now? "Livin' one day at a time ... tryin' to drink you off my mine ... but I'm fallin' apart ... one day at at time." "Love is cruel." Not so much ... :) I loved Peek! Just ... oh I don't even know now. We were destructive as a team! ... to each other! His friends ... my friends ... the music ... our daughters... the memories hurt ... they just do! So ... complicated and yet not. DRUGS! Alcohol and drugs! I don't wanna sound like a D.A.R.E officer ... but yeah ... looking back it was the lifestyle ... it was us ... the band ... and the life of ... sad that it ended a marriage that was supposed to last forever! June 25, 1999 was Jerry's 40th birthday ... I had arranged for SubVooDoo ... his band to open up for StuckMojo in Macon, GA @ Liz Reeds... an awesome bar that is ... gone ... dead too... now. Alan Frank from Macon ran it ... great guy! I miss him ... and I hear he is ... "in trouble ... ill" too now ... but they were to open up for SM and I had got a birthday cake with SubVooDoo pic on it ... took it in the bathroom where he was cleaning up to go play ... don't ask ... lol ... again drugs and alcohol and it was 1999.

I showed him the birthday cake and he said "get that f'ing cake out of here ... I don't have time ... I am trying to get ready to go play." I was crushed! I said "yeah a f'ing job that I booked for you for your birthday ... the band guys were thrilled to get to open for SM ... but to Jerry ... again ... I was "in the way" ... :( I loved him so much. I didn't always show it but I did ... and we had two beautiful girls together ...

My oldest daughter Laura was his heart from day 1. I will never forget ... he came into recovery where I was and said "we got us a little girl and she is beautiful" ... all I could come out with was "you'd damn well better enjoy her cause you are NEVER getting another one" LOL ... it was 1986 ... Dec. I had lost my daddy who was my heart ... in June and I was in HORRIBLE pain!

From that day forward ... Laura was his life! Laura and the music ... and I came .. somewhere after ... but it was ok cause I loved the music and I loved Lauralee with everything in me! She's was a brand new babygirl! A precious gift from God that I wished so badly my dad had of lived to be around! He loved kids!

I was married to one of the most talented Middle Ga musicians I have ever met for 17.5 years. We were friends ... we were best friends ... we had two beautiful girls together ... but ... married ... like couples who are gonna be together for life married? I don't think so ... we were ... destructive as a couple ... destructive to each other ... and to others around us.

My niece ... who we actually helped raise ... was arrested recently ... felony possession of another person's prescription ... is that my fault? Did I plant the pills in her room like she is telling everybody in Middle Ga that I did? Absolutely not. Did I introduce her to my lady friend Cocaine at way to early an age? I'm not sure. I mean ... yes we did drugs together way before it was ok ... or way before she was mature enough to make the decision for herself ... but looking back ... I believe she was doing drugs already when they moved back to the Middle GA area ... she sure knew where to get them shortly after arrival. Not a good thing.

It was 1994 - 1995 .... my youngest daughter had not been born yet. She is almost 14 now. My ex was playing lead for a band called Genepool ... Blacktop before that and Katzonfire before that. LOL Men! Bands! Musicians and lead singers. LOL Coudn't pick a name for s. LOL

They practiced in WR ... played at Just Bee's on North Commerical Circle as Katsonfire. A little guy named J.R. Lopez was their first lead singer. Jesus! What a diva! To be such a little he man at the same time. It's true what they say about the "little man syndrome" LOL ... they make an effort to compensate for their size with attitude ... I know ... I married one ... my daddy always called Jerry ... "little man" ... yes even to his face. LOL

Ok so I know this should maybe not be funny to me ... but ... "unethical bear hunt" ... as a headline on my fav morning radio show this morning ... really? It seems Troy Gentry killed a tamed bear back in like 04 and claimed it as a wild bear. Ok so now he's found it his duty to the public to apologize to his people or the people of TN. I dunno. I think the past is better left there! ... in the past! But ok ... he's said sorry. I am certain 90% of the people who read that article this morning are completely ok with Troy killing a bear and then realizing it was a tamed bear on a wildlife reserve. Stuff happens right? Yes yes it does and it's not like he killed one of our kids at a zoo or anything. Life will go on... for everybody ... ok not for Cubby the bear but for the general public life will go on and his before and after the killing of Cubby. Really? I still don't quite get it. Publicity stunt? I think! Cause it was 2004 ... he was fined ... he was banned from hunting in that state for five years ... the man was punished for killing a bear ... and it was six years ago ... why now would he choose to come out and say sorry? Good Morning World ... what do you have in-store for me today? Wow it's early. This deal of waking at 4:30 a.m. is taking a bit for me to get used to ... but ... on a positive note ... I am sleeping which is a bonus cause I have not slept on a regular basis since early September. LONG STORY!

I get up .... take Zoey out ... Zoey by the by is my Yorkie ... she's my baabe for sure. So it's cold as crap in Nashville this a.m.! I think 30 ... but I'm from GA originally so 30 is flippin cold to me. LOL We got out for Zoey to do her business. I come in ... check the FB ... kinda... tune into You Tube and then to my country radio which is 95.5 The Wolf and first thing I see is Gentry apologizes for taking part in unethical bear hunt. What bear hunt ... and unethical... I can't even read the article. LOL

Ok first off... I'm not so big into "huntin'"... I mean ... I know people who are ... big big hunters. It's not that I'm a big animal rights person ... I mean ... I am ... ok I don't want anybody hurting puppies and kittens. LOL But people eat deer... they eat elk... they eat moose ... so they hunt them ... and eat them ... kewl. No different that us eating ... beef ... pork... lamb... chicken ... we eat them ... somebody some where is killing them, right?

But ... this is different ... my man Troy Gentry has apologized for "Engaging In "Unethical" Bear Hunt"... seriously? What the f.?

Today ... Pastor D. began his sermon with ... You've got to let go of the past ... and the quote above... and it was like somebody hit me over the head with a mallet. Like a light bulb turned on in the dim light that would be my existence. LOL I sat there in church running over in my mind the past two months and the people and events of the past that were entwined in the threads of them. Kinda scary.

In away ... it all started back in September when I got the idea to plan an American Cancer Society charity event in memory of my ex Jerry Peek who lost his battle with cancer in October of 09. Jerry and I met in 1979 at a friend of my sister and brother in law's house. He was ... the bad boy ... smoking ... drinking ... druggin'... guitar playin' ... bad boy. LOL He was awesome!

New month ... new me ... good and bad notes ...

New Month New Me ....

So much has happened in my life over the past month that I couldn't type it all here if I wanted to ... and I don't want to... LOL

Oct. 9 ... a child ... well she is not a child anymore she is 30 years old ... was arrested for felony possession of another man's a d h d medication in Warner Robins GA ... she is blaming me for it ... she is telling people that I stole my own daughters medication and planted it in her room in WR although I was and can prove that I was in Nashville, TN that entire week. Insanity ... but par for my family. I quit ... the family. LOL I know you can't but you can want to!

For the past three months I have been planning an American Cancer Society charity event in memory of my ex husband who I was married to for 17.5 years and who also was the daddy of our two beautiful daughters. In the beginning of this ordeal and yes now it is indeed an ordeal ... anyways when it started ... his drummer was all about helping me and so was his wife ... and now because I want the wife to give Jerry's guitar to our oldest daughter .. I am a b. and they ... wife band ... friends have all pulled out of helping me with charity event... mature right?

I have been back and fourth to Macon for the entire month of Oct. in an effort to put this thing together the right way. But no ... to the general public ... my reasons for coming / going to Macon are strictly to hit on one of WR finest songwriters / guitarist / vocalist ... oh yeah ... that's exactly why I've been in GA. Couldn't be that GA is home to me ... Macon is where I was born ... I have tons of friends there and have made new ones ... no no no ..... I'm hitting on a hott guitar player ... ok so he is way hot ... but I am not hitting on him ... we are friends and have been forever. I am just so tired of the stupidity of women .... f'ing drama queens ... and not young women ... these are grown women ... what the f.? I will be friends with who I want to ... I will visit with who I want to ... AND I WILL buy f'ing guitars for who .... I .... want to ... fyi friend loved guitar and played it yesterday. Too kewl! Now I just wish for a month that is different from last month!
